Im Sommer 2004 wird not2help ins Leben gerufen.
Jan Siegwart & Gabriela Heer verfolgen die Idee, durch Improvisationen Songs zu kreieren, die ohne Instrumente, sondern ausschliesslich mithilfe zweier menschlichen Stimmen (einer männlichen und einer weiblichen) gespielt werden können.

Das Resultat dieser Idee kann in Form einer CD über diese Website probegehört und nach Hause bestellt werden.

Seit Sommer 2005 ist ein Live-Programm in Vorbereitung. not2help lässt dabei mit nur zwei Stimmen ganze Songs entstehen, indem das auf der Bühne gesungene Material aufgezeichnet und unmittelbar wieder abgespielt wird. Fremde oder vor dem Konzert aufgenommene Einspielungen werden strikt keine verwendet.

Erste kleinere Auftritte fanden 2005 im Grämlis, Horw und im Kleintheater am Bundesplatz, Luzern statt. Ein erster grösserer Auftritt ging am 03. September 2006 an den Musikfestwochen Winterthur über die Bühne.

Im November stehen kleinere und grössere Konzerte anlässlich von Firmenevents und Kongressen ins Haus. Am 15. Dezember wird not2help in der Zwischenbühne Horw ein Gemeinschaftskonzert mit der befreundeten Ska-Band Broken Glasses geben. Dies wird der erste öffentliche Auftritt von not2help in der Zentralschweiz vor heimischem Publikum sein.

Jan Siegwart (27, Luzern) und Gabriela Heer (21, Horw) alias not2help präsentieren ihre erste gemeinsame CD. Darauf zu hören sind ausschliesslich Töne und Geräusche, welche der menschlichen Kehle entlockt werden können. Auf Instrumente und Computereffekte wurde bewusst verzichtet (mit Ausnahme von Hall). Die beiden Stimmakrobaten ergänzen sich: Während Jan Siegwart in erster Linie für Beatboxing und Hintergrundmusik verantwortlich ist, beeindruckt Gabriela Heer durch einfallsreichen Leadgesang.

Sämtliche Songs von not2help sind spontan während der hauseigenen Aufnahmesession entstanden. Diese Spontaneität ist ein wichtiges Markenzeichen dieser Musik. Zu bereits bestehendem Material wurde ständig weiter improvisiert, bis genügend Musik zur Verfügung stand, um daraus Songs mit eingängigen Rhythmen und Melodien zu arrangieren. Oft wurde Tonmaterial dabei mehrfach verwendet. Ob Jazz, Pop, Merengue, Hiphop oder Worldmusic, für jeden ist auf diesem Album etwas dabei.

Schluss mit der Diskriminierung derjenigen, die keine Fremdsprachen beherrschen. Die Fantasiesprache, welche die beiden Künstler verwenden und ständig neu definieren, zieht sich wie ein roter Faden durch ihre Musik. Was die Texte von not2help bedeuten, wird dem Zuhörer überlassen. Sie sind genau so spontan entstanden wie die dazugehörige Musik, stammen also nicht aus den Köpfen, sondern direkt aus der Seele der beiden Musiker.

Presseinformationen zu den Live-Konzerten

Seit der Rückkehr von Gabriela Heer von Ihrem Studienjahr in London arbeitet not2help an seinem ersten Live-Programm. Mit Hilfe der Technik gelingt es den beiden Sängern, Einzelstimmen nacheinander zu singen und doch gleichzeitig ertönen zu lassen.

Um den Live-Abend etwas abwechslungsreicher zu gestalten, wurden einige Songs in verschiedenen Sprachen getextet.

Gästebuch Hey Man, habe eure CD gestern bei auf der Party erstanden. Finde sie ist mindestens 16.- Fr. wert!!! Heute haben wir den ganzen Tag reingehört. Sie ist so fulmiowitzovitalcustomunikat-fantastisch. Habe das Gefühl, dass die Schweiz noch auf dieses Album gewartet hat.... Höre Quincy Jones sich schon die Hände reiben. über den Text kann man sich streiten!... Auch wenn du manchmal ziemlich tief in die elektronische trickkiste gegriffen hast, kommt der Sound nie "overdresst" rüber. Hut ab, beide Daumen hoch! Da solltest du einmal ein "Läiff-Konzert" ins Auge fassen. (ich wäre da noch ein offensive "rythem eggs-shaker"). Empfehle euch weiter. Guido Hallo Jan! Ich höre mir momentan "que noca vera" an und mich haut's vom Sockel! Noch nie habe ich "elektronische" Musik mit "gesampleten" Beats so genossen. Eine hervorrangende CD! Bruno Tach auch, also das ist eindeutig GENIAL! Meine empfindlichen Ohren betrügen mich hoffentlich nicht bei der Information, die sie mir mitteilen, die Frauenstimme sei wirklich im Mehrspurverfahren original overdubbing-mässig mehrstimmig gesungen!? Stark!! Perfekte Intonation. Sowas ringt mir sofortige alle Achtung ab! Mehr! Die "Drums" sind echt insgesamt der Hammer! Wenn du nicht geschrieben hättest, dass das Ganze ohne Hilfsmittel entstanden ist, hätt ich das glaub eher für ein echtes Instrument gehalten. ...splonk... Klingt wirklich Klasse. Zuerst dachte ich, das wäre ein schlechter RIP einer Chart CD. Aber dann merkt man doch, das es sich um talentierte Musiker handelt :) Habt ihr toll gemacht. Die Frauenstimme ist spitze und das Mundorchester im Hintergrund ist auch Klasse gelungen. Peter Hi Jan, Die CD ist gestern wohlbehütet bei mir angekommen. Vielen Dank. Ich habe als Musiker selbst auch schon an eher unkonventionellen Produktionen mitgearbeitet und weiss daher, das es sehr schwer ist, mit Musik, die nicht in die gängigen Sparten passt, erfolgreich zu sein.
